To that end, they have scheduled a six-race series this year and introduced the Calhoun Cup.
Their race schedule includes:
*April 5 - Flower Power Run, Calhoun County Park, 10:30 a.m.

*June 7 - Wood Festival Run, Road Course in Grantsville, 8:30 a.m.

*August 16 - Hotter Than Heck Run, Calhoun County Park, 10:30 a.m.
* November 8 - Not Yet Done Run, Calhoun County Park, 10:30 a.m.
The 2008 Calhoun Cup Series will consist of six races and will span the entire Calhoun Runners’ season.
There will be four major winners of the Calhoun Cup. Winners will be male and female overall best cumulative score in walking and running. Other winners will also be awarded in age groups, most improved, etc.
To win one of the four Calhoun Cup awards, a runner or walker will be required to participate in every event. If a runner/walker is unable to participate in an event, he or she will be given a "blank" score, matching the last-place finish in their group.
Calhoun Runners also plan to start a walking/running group at various spots around Calhoun County, including at the old Calhoun High School, at the Calhoun County Park, and at a location as yet to be determined on the southern end of the county.
While promoting competitive 5K runs and walks, we also want to get the non-competitive runner/walker to become involved.
