New Events
We have gained two events in the area, The Mayday 5K, on May 10 and The Run For The Roar 5K and mile races, on July 12.
The Mayday 5K is a fundraiser for the Good Samaritan Clinic in Parkersburg to help them provide healthcare to families who might otherwise go without medical care.  They are putting a nice event together with more than the usual amenities and are going to use the City Park/Washington Avenue route that we have not used for a few years.  With a new USATF course certification, it will be a good spring event to test those winter rested legs on a proven course.
The Run For The Roar is an event to complement the "Riverfront Roar" power boat race weekend.  This event is also scheduled for USATF certification for both a Mile and 5K courses.  The start and finish are on lower Front Street which is closed for the weekend.  The courses offer some of the best for their distances in this area, so you should see some great times - maybe your own.  The race management wants to provide an event that all participants will enjoy, with the intent of making it an annual event.
