This year's Turkey Trot was larger than we anticipated. I expected some growth in line with the preceding three years or evening tapering a little, but the race increased by nearly 45% over 2008. Even though we overbought shirts, we still needed 300 more after the race day rush swamped the City Park Pavilion.
The adjusted course worked ok, it wasn't necessary for the leaders to pass the follow-up ambulance as they rounded the pond to the finish.
We are grateful to St Joseph's Hospital for supporting this event for the past 30 years and hope they continue for 30 more. I am personally grateful to our club members that took charge of their respective areas to make it a success.
